A young man has died in a suspected drowning at a popular Maleny tourist spot, a Maroochydore Police spokesman has confirmed.
It comes after a major search at Gardner’s Falls, where the swimmer reportedly disappeared after using a rope swing.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they were called to the scene at 3.30pm.
Police confirmed the man was an international student aged in his 20s.
The circumstances surrounding the tragedy are still being investigated, the Maroochydore police spokesman said, however it was not suspected to have been the result of foul play.
