POLICE say a lucky catch saved an out-of-control Jeep from plummeting 100m down a cliff after it rolled away from a Coast property this evening.

Officers at the Panarama Crescent scene in Buderim said it appeared the vehicle had rolled about 10m downhill before a spare tyre got caught on a support stay of a power pole.

They were investigating whether or not the vehicle's handbrake had been applied.
