Undervalued but in-demand suburb on hit list

Southern city and international buyers are eyeing off an in-demand but “undervalued” Sunshine Coast suburb for its quiet lifestyle and absolute beach frontage.

Southern city and international buyers are eyeing off an in-demand but "undervalued" Sunshine Coast suburb for its quiet lifestyle and absolute beach frontage.

Beachside town Yaroomba has been identified as the state's third most in-demand area of growth in the past five years.

Analysis from realestate.com.au revealed median house prices in Yaroomba had skyrocketed by more than 60 per cent since 2015.

McGraths Noosa principal Matt Powe said Yaroomba was in a similar bracket to Noosa, but more affordable and a quieter suburb.

He said it was also anti-development and had less hustle and bustle than its tourism-driven neighbours to the north and south.

"It's relatively quiet compared to Noosa, Maroochydore and Mooloolaba, and with such lovely beaches," Mr Powe said.

"It's very much a suburban area, localised, low set homes and a lot with the access to absolute beach fronts.

"We find it is similar to Noosa but a bit more affordable and less developed than say Coolum."

Mr Powe said the "beautiful" coastal route along David Low Way from Noosa to Twin Waters made for an enticing point of difference for suburbs like Yaroomba.

REIQ Sunshine Coast chair Matt Diesel said Yaroomba had presented "exceptional" value for a long time.

Fellow agent Tony Holzberger, principal at LJ Hooker Coolum Beach, said tightly held areas like Yaroomba and Point Arkwright were "undervalued".

"They're both really tightly held and have long been sought after," Mr Holzberger said.

"There are a lot of new blocks being built in the area around the Sekisui development which is a great area.

"When stuff comes on it does sell, and reasonably quick. The beachside area is especially undervalued compared to Sunshine and Peregian beaches."

Mr Holzberger said plenty of the big sales in the area over the past half-decade had been to buyers from capital cities and a few from Hong Kong.
