They are the fibro, wood or besser brick homes Sunshine Coast residents and visitors walk past during a trip to the beach and they are often also sitting on prime land with incredible views.
The Bunya Bunya beach shack, on Alexandra Pde in Alexandra Headland, is the last of its kind on that road.
The tenant who has lived in the home for more than three decades, Allan Clarke, affectionately known as Clarkie, said he was sad Sunshine Coast developers NeuBau Group had bought the home and were intending to demolish it to build a unit block.
Another home for sale only metres from the beach is 13 Boolarong Cres, in Alexandra Headland.
Eastell and Co sales executive Amarni Drake said a single family had owned it for more than 40 years and it was used by them as a holiday home.
“There’s two generations that have had nice memories here on the Sunshine Coast,” he said.
The owners also extended the home, adding extra bedrooms, a dining and living area and more as the family grew and grandchildren arrived.
The family has decided to sell.
“This is the last beachfront home on that strip for sale in the golden triangle,” Mr Drake said.
The sales executive would not reveal a hoped-for sales price.
“It’s certainly a unique property and will get a unique result,” Mr Drake said.
