BUILDERS are gearing up for a six-month frenzy in Palmview's Harmony Estate after 33 blocks of land sold in just three days.

AVID Property Group's Harmony development manager Anthony Demiris said the sale success was the result of a perfect storm of "premium" land being available and the government's HomeBuilder scheme kicking in.

Mr Demiris said inquiry numbers tripled, and the team fielded more than 150 in the past week alone.

In the same week, fellow real estate agency Town Group also sold 21 lots of land at Forest Glen.

'CHAOTIC FEEDING FRENZY' AS BUYERS SNAP UP NEW ESTATE

Mr Demiris said the mega land sale at Harmony Estate went gangbusters from Thursday afternoon and is still going.

"We released stage 11A before close of business on Thursday and the phones started ringing straight away, like off the hook," Mr Demiris said.

"People were hanging around the sales office by 5pm that day. It was crazy.

"They all sold to owner occupiers and all to local buyers.

"Fifty per cent were first-home buyers too."

Mr Demiris said the flurry of activity had fast-tracked stage 11B (38 lots) almost three months ahead of schedule to cater to the booming demand.

Already, buyers have swooped.

"The guys have sold quite a few lots of 11B as well - it is not out of the question that they will all be gone today," he said.

"Clearly the buyers feel the need to secure land and that the grant is going to stimulate the economy.

"The builders are beside themselves and gearing up to get under way."

Mr Demiris estimated that the estate was about 25-30 per cent complete and expected the demand would continue "for months".

"There has never been a better time to buy and land a dream home," he said.

"Builders are offering great incentives, as is the government."
