THE team of Coolum-based real estate agents tasked with selling for a cure are embracing the pressure of the campaign.
Richardson and Wrench Coolum principal Mark Lawler and fellow sales agent James Henley have been tasked with selling the luxury penthouse of Keith and Glenda Drake, who are selling their Maroochydore unit to raise money for the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) Foundation Coronavirus Action Fund.
The proceeds of the penthouse sale, which Mr Drake paid $2.75 million for in 2006, will go to the fund, which would allow for clinical trials and more.
“We are feeling the pressure gladly and we are taking it on,” Mr Lawler said.
Mr Lawler, who was taking no commission from the sale, said he expected the latter stages of bidding to become “quite exciting” and he was hopeful there would be plenty of interest from buyers with a philanthropic mindset.
The eBay-style online auction had kicked off, with bidding currently at $500,000.
The final bidding phase was set to start from 10am on May 16 for the four-bedroom apartment at 1001/51 Fifth Ave, Maroochydore.
