A "hidden but beautiful" suburb has emerged as a major money mover in the Sunshine Coast property market on the back of phenomenal growth.
Flaxton has been revealed as the top Coast suburb for growth after the latest property data showed prices in the hinterland suburb grew by 45.9 per cent in the past 12 months.
The realestate.com.au market trends analysis also showed Flaxton prices had grown by 95.2 per cent in the past five years with its average sale price sitting at $810,000.
Zeb Realty principal Ann Ellison said Flaxton was a beautiful place that people often discovered by chance when driving to Montville or Maleny.
"No one knows about it," Ms Ellison said.
"You just get a lot for your money.
"Probably 80 per cent of the people I sell to are from out of the area, mainly Brisbane.
"Very few locals I find.
"It's one of those lovely little suburbs with its own personality which attracts creative people."

Ms Ellison said buyer confidence was high despite uncertainty from the coronavirus pandemic and said she expected it to continue.
She pointed to a couple of sales at more than $1.2m which had been completed quickly.
"Any quality acreage property is very attractive to buyers, not just in Flaxton," she said.
"More so now in light of the current climate."
Acreage suburbs dominated the Coast's top 10 which came as no surprise to REIQ Sunshine Coast zone chairman Matt Diesel.
Mr Diesel said buyer attention had shifted to "space and lifestyle" because of the pandemic.
"Acreage came into a heavy focus," Mr Diesel said.
"The attention of buyer demographic changed to land and usable land.
"It was an interesting outcome.
"People are more acutely aware of lifestyle, room for the kids to run around, room to work at home, room to grow food sustainably, more space.
"The lockdown really highlighted that."
