A WHOPPER six-bedroom family home sprawled across two hectares and “perfect for families with boys” is set to go under the hammer.

Semi-retired couple David and Christine Walsh are parting was with their beloved home of 11 years – 145 Lefoes Rd, Bli Bli, to downsize.

Mr and Mrs Walsh have purchased an apartment in Buddina off the plan and are ready for the beachside lifestyle.

Semi-retired couple David and Christine Walsh are parting ways with their massive Bli Bli mansion.

“I am 60 in a week or so and it’s getting a little big for us,” Mr Walsh said.

“We designed and built this place – and we still love it here.

“Both of us are really looking forward to going out on the water every day. The lifestyle change will be nice.

“We will miss it too. Our grandson will as well.”

Mr Walsh said the home was built with solar panels, which made money.

“We never pay for power, we get $7000 back a quarter, it’s a great money maker,” the semi-retired bus driver said.

Ray White Maroochydore agent Jason Mills said he’d never marketed a property of this size.

In fact from talks with his colleagues, none of them had either, he said.

“It’s the biggest house certainly I have ever marketed in 10 years,” Mr Mills said.

“I’m sure there are bigger out there, but not that we have sold.

“Because the home has a main part and then an enclosed granny flat at one end and something similar down the other, you could separate the kids easily.

“So it’s perfect for families with boys. Or for boys and girls who don’t get along. There’s so much space.”

The home boasts two pools, a 1200sq m floorplan, a dam and capacity to hold a small wedding.

Mr Mills said the property was introduced to the database and some interested parties had been shown through the doors.

It is currently listed for forthcoming auction, however, a more aggressive marketing campaign will be ramped up once Queensland’s borders open.
