A BUDERIM home which lured buyers from Western Australia, Sydney, Melbourne and outback Queensland has sold for upwards of $2 million.

The property, described as a 'Queenslander with Hamptons style', sprawled over 4562sq m and included a swimming pool and floodlit tennis court.

Though the six-bedroom house failed to meet the seller's minimum auction price of $2.1 million, one of the estate's property managers revealed the home was sold shortly after bidding had ended for a figure which was "a bit higher".

"The result was outstanding," Ray White Maroochydore representative Jason Mills said.

"We had a huge crowd turn up, about 150 people were there.

"It was like a prize home, a bit of a pipe dream for most people (which) made them all think 'wow, wouldn't you like to live in this home?'"

Mr Mills said regardless of how good the marketing was, nothing could quite capture the property's awe-inspiring atmosphere.

"Most people were surprised it had another level to it," he said.

"There are probably properties in the area which have a similar style, but this house had its own 'feel' that trumped all of that which I don't know you come across often.

"There wasn't a single negative comment."

The Ray White agent said while he couldn't reveal too much about the property's new owners or the final settled figure, he believed they would be very happy in their new home.

"It's their dream home, so they were very emotional about it and extremely excited," he said.

"They were just over the moon."
