Woman trapped after two-vehicle crash at Coolum Beach Rd

Multiple emergency crews were called and a woman had to be cut from a vehicle following a crash near a police station on the Sunshine Coast.

A woman has been trapped by her legs inside a vehicle after a crash near a Sunshine Coast police station.

Emergency crews including multiple police, fire and ambulance were called to a two-vehicle collision at Coolum Beach just before 11am on Saturday.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics assessed four people - a man in his 40s, woman in her 30s and two toddlers as a result of the crash on Coolum Beach Rd.

She said initial reports indicated no one was seriously injured but the woman was trapped by her legs in the vehicle.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said two crews used cutting equipment to free the woman from the vehicle, which was successful about 11.20am.

The woman was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with pelvic injuries.

The man with abdominal pain, a toddler with shoulder and hip pain, and another toddler were also taken to hospital in stable conditions.
