A man accused of drug offences has been marched out of court by police after a Coast magistrate grew tired of his defiant “gobbledygook” regarding claims he was involved in a tribal court.

Todd James Dent is accused of possessing marijuana, LSD and a number of drug utensils including a hand grinder and a glass pipe on August 11.

Mr Dent faced Noosa Magistrates Court on Tuesday but declined to enter a plea, sign a bail document, or adjourn the matter.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist asked Mr Dent several questions, to which Mr Dent repeatedly said he was an agent of a tribal court and did not want to do business with the prosecutor.

Mr Dent told the court he did not consent to the allegations against him.

“Your honour I’m breaking the presumption that I am here as a defendant, I am here as an agent of court,” Mr Dent said.

Mr Dent had failed to appear on September 7 and a warrant for his arrest was pending his actions on Tuesday.

Mr Stjernqvist said Mr Dent would not receive bail unless he engaged in the court process.

Mr Stjernqvist said Mr Dent could adjourn the matter to get legal advice, sign a bail document or enter a plea.

“You’re deliberately disobeying direction to tell me what you want to do with the matter today,” he said.

Mr Stjernqvist said he gave Mr Dent every opportunity to engage in the court process and described Mr Dent’s responses as “gobbledygook” before calling the police.

“You’ve indicated that you won’t sign a bail document, you’ve indicated you won’t enter a plea and you keep reading the rubbish that is written in that book.”

Mr Dent asked Mr Stjernqvist, “Are we done here?”, moments before being handcuffed by several police officers and taken into custody.

Mr Stjernqvist entered a plea of not guilty for all the offences on Mr Dent’s behalf.

Mr Dent’s matters were adjourned for a review mention on October 29.

He was remanded in custody.
