Timothy John Nowlan leaked ex-partner’s intimate image

A 42-year-old stock agent sent his mates intimate photos of his ex-partner and drunkenly posted one on Facebook out of spite after he was dumped.

A stock agent leaked the nudes of his ex-fiance to his mates and posted them onto Facebook in an act of “spite” after his relationship ended.

Timothy John Nowlan, 42, received a suspended jail term for the intimate betrayal of his former partner between July 27-30, 2021.

Caloundra Magistrates Court heard the Currimundi man had been sent a photo of his ex-partner naked in the shower during their relationship.

Police prosecutor Stephen Potter said after they broke up Nowlan sent the intimate picture onto two people before posting it on Facebook.

When interviewed by police Nowlan said he leaked the nudes of out “spite” because she called off the relationship, according to Sergeant Potter.

The court was told Nowlan was taken into custody in August 2021 on another matter and had spent up to seven months on remand.

Sergeant Potter said this was due to Nowlan being on parole for offences including stalking and assault.

Defence lawyer Rowena Ferrall said Nowlan’s ex had originally sent him the photos which he saved onto his phone.

Ms Ferrall told the court that Nowlan had no recollection of sending or posting the intimate picture due to him being drunk and suffering from epilepsy.

Nowlan pleaded guilty to distributing intimate images (domestic violence offence) and was sentenced to six months’ jail, suspended for 18 months.

Convictions were recorded.
