A 54-year-old man and a boy have been charged after an alleged stabbing drama on the Sunshine Coast.

Police said emergency services were called to Palm Drive, Mooloolaba in relation to a disturbance about 9.55pm on Sunday night.

Officers arrived a short time later and found a 36-year-old Caboolture man and a 30-year-old Springwood man who had both sustained serious injuries.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said one man was taken in life-threatening condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for chest and arm injuries.

Another man also had life-threatening abdomen and head injuries.

A 54-year-old Mooloolaba man was also found with minor head injuries and was taken to Nambour Hospital for treatment.

On Monday, a Sunshine Coast University Hospital spokeswoman said the 36-year-old and 30-year-old were in serious but stable conditions.

Neighbours, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were shocked the incident had taken place in their tight-knit local community.

“In this area it is just unheard of, we do have problems with cars being stolen so we are already very security cautious,” they said.

“We have a lot of elderly people around here so that is worrying.”

They said the property where the crime scene had been declared sold about three months ago.

Detective Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry said police were investigating a number of incidents in the days leading up to the alleged stabbing.

“Initial investigations have indicated there have been a number of incidents in the days leading to this incident,” Detective Senior Sergeant Lowry said.

Police have since charged the 54-year-old Mooloolaba man with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

His matter was mentioned in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday where he made no application for bail.

The Mooloolaba man was remanded in custody and had his matters adjourned.

A boy has also been charged with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was due to appear in Maroochydore Childrens Court on July 2.
