A Meridan Plains woman has been taken off the road after she was pinned drink driving following a crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Sicily Hawaikii Matiu approached the roundabout along Nambour Connection Rd at Woombye above the Bruce Hwy on the evening of September 7 when she collided with another vehicle.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard on Monday that police attended and spoke to the 23-year-old about 9.20pm where she was supporting the other driver when she was breath tested.

The police could smell alcohol on her breath, with Matiu admitting she was driving at the time of the crash. She told police she had four drinks between 3pm and 9pm that day.

Police prosecutor Mel Pyke said Matiu returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.142 per cent.

The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to driving over the middle alcohol limit on Monday in court where she represented herself.

Matiu apologised to the court and said she would not do such a thing again.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist fined her $600 and disqualified her from driving for two months.
