A Sydney man has faced court following the death of an elderly motorcyclist in a crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Shane Lawrence Jacobs, from Daceyville in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, was charged following the fatal collision at the intersection of Hunsley and Obi Obi roads, Kidaman Creek on April 10.
Police said a motorbike allegedly collided with a Holden Colorado which caused the rider, 70-year-old Palmwoods man Allan Henry Scheuber, to die at the scene.
The Holden driver, 54-year-old Jacobs, was not injured but was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.
He was granted police bail where police say he cannot leave the state of Queensland without the written permission of the officer in charge of the Nambour Police Station or the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Jacobs appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday where law clerk Michelle Dorendahl asked for an adjournment to allow for the brief of evidence to be delivered.
Police prosecutor Jeanette Grigoris agreed and believed the documents would take up to six weeks.
His matters will return to court on July 14, with the Sydney man leaving court on bail.
