Search and rescue operation underway for missing man Mark Popping

Authorities have started a major search and rescue operation to find missing man Mark Popping who was last seen four days ago.

A search and rescue operation is underway in a bid to find Mark Popping who was last seen in the Kandanga region four days ago.

Police hold “serious” concerns for his welfare and reported his behaviour was out of character.

Mr Popping, 53, was last seen walking towards Kandanga railway station about 4pm on Saturday, September 18.

Police along with volunteers from the State Emergency Service will on Tuesday focus on areas including paddocks, railway corridors and creek lines.

Mr Popping is described as caucasian, approximately 185cm tall with blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black pants, a blue hooded jumper and no shoes.

Anyone with information in relation to Mr Popping’s whereabouts is urged to contact police.

Police are also asking for anyone who travelled within Kandanga on Saturday, September 18 and has dashcam footage to contact them.
