A police staff member will face court in Maroochydore following an alleged incident off duty.

The female Queensland Police Service staff member from the North Coast Region was charged with one count of unauthorised dealing with shop goods, allegedly committed while off duty.

The woman was expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 2.

In a statement, the QPS said the matter would be subject to a disciplinary investigation at the end of court proceedings, and was being managed within the workplace.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency, and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” the statement read.

“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
