Two men are in a Sunshine Coast hospital following a head-on crash in the hinterland.
Emergency crews were called to the two-vehicle crash on Yeates Rd in Beerwah at 10.22pm yesterday.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said an initial investigation showed it was a head-on collision.
Grim pictures emerging from the crash show two cars on opposite sides of the road with their fronts crumpled in.
Paramedics wrapped one of the men involved in the crash in blankets as they treated him near the white car.
A close-up shows the grey car’s front completely crumpled.
Other images show silver airbags that have inflated during the crash.
Both cars came to rest on the side of the rural road.
One man in his 30s with a significant and potentially life-threatening leg injury and one man in his 30s with potentially life-threatening head and chest injuries have been transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The Sunshine Coast Police forensic crash unit is investigating.
