Teenager charged with Maroochydore BWS bottle shop armed robbery
Police have charged a 14-year-old with armed robbery after he allegedly held up a Maroochydore bottle shop with a knife.

A teenager has been charged for the alleged armed robbery by knifepoint of a bottle shop on the Sunshine Coast.
A 14-year-old Maroochydore boy was arrested following a police hunt after he allegedly held up an Aerodrome Rd BWS in Maroochydore about 8.45pm on July 26.
Sunshine Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Phil Hurst said it was “excellent work” by general duties investigators that resulted in the arrest.
The teenager has been charged with one count of armed robbery and will appear before Maroochydore Children’s Court at a later date.
Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield earlier said a “male” entered the BWS.
“He (allegedly) lifted his jumper to reveal a knife protruding from his shorts and demanded a sum of cash and some alcohol and left the store,” the detective said.
He said the bottle shop attendant was a 21-year-old man.
The bottle shop was open for business as usual on July 27.
The daytime manager declined to comment about the incident.
This latest armed robbery follows the arrest of a Sunshine Coast man in February after he allegedly held up a store worker at Maroochydore Convenience, also on Aerodrome Rd.
