A PAIR of teenage boys have been charged for allegedly tearing up the Noosa Pirates football fields, causing thousands in damages.

Sunshine Coast District Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Dan Collins said two juveniles caught doing burnouts were dealt with the youth justice act.

Snr-Sgt Collins said the local boys, aged 16 and 17, were charged with wilful damage following the act of vandalism on April 14.

He said police had also dealt with a “fair bit” of property crime in the Noosa area.

Pirates club president Greg Christensen said the “little buggers” caused about $2000 in damages and expressed his disappointment at the ordeal.

“Everyone’s bored, but it still doesn’t give them the right to go and trash the footy fields,” he said.
