Kenilworth crash: Motorcycle, 4WD collide on Kenilworth Brooloo Road

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after he collided with a 4WD and was thrown into its windshield on a notorious stretch of road in Kenilworth.

Police say a male rider in his 20s was lucky to escape a serious motorcycle crash after he was thrown onto the windshield of a 4WD in Kenilworth.

Emergency services rushed to the two vehicle collision along Kenilworth Brooloo Road at 7.52am Saturday.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man had suffered significant leg and pelvis injuries.

He was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Senior constable Paul Benton said initial investigations suggested the rider was on the wrong side of the road on the notorious bend.

“The motorcycle has then slid into the bull bar while the other car tried to take evasive action,” he said.

“It’s then impacted with bull bar, and the rider was thrown onto the windscreen.

“There were no witnesses.”

Senior constable Benton said the rider had been with a group riding to Kenilworth, while the 4WD occupants were travelling from central Queensland.

The Forensic Crash Unit is assisting in the investigation.

Paramedics were tasked with another motorcycle crash on a rural property along McCabe Road in Woodford at 7.45am Saturday.

A male in his 50s was treated for a serious leg injury and was taken to Sunshine Coast University in a stable condition.
