A 29-year-old man has been charged after a series of alleged offences in Mountain Creek, including an attempted carjacking, a break-in, and injuring a dog with a screwdriver.
Police allege the incidents began around 5am on January 21 when the man, Grant Dale Gilbert, approached another man sitting in his car on Karawatha Dr.
Mr Gilbert allegedly threatened the driver with a rock and demanded his Honda City before briefly entering the vehicle and then fleeing on foot.
Later that morning, between 9am and 10am, the same Mr Gilbert allegedly entered a shed on Satinwood Pl through an unlocked door and stole a screwdriver. He then allegedly jumped a fence into a neighbouring property, where he injured a dog with the stolen tool.
Following a confrontation with the residents, Mr Gilbert allegedly stole car keys and fled the scene in a Holden Commodore.
Police also received reports that he was spotted in at least one other backyard on Satinwood Place.
After investigations, police arrested Mr Gilbert in Bokarina on January 22.
He fronted court on January 23 and has been charged with multiple offences, including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count each of armed robbery, injuring animals, unlawful entry of a vehicle, and entering a dwelling with intent.
He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to reappear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 7.
