A motive for Feebie McIntosh’s alleged murder is being investigated as detectives trace the movements of one of her alleged killers. Here’s what we know so far.

Feebie McIntosh: Bizarre Sunshine Coast murder mystery

The shooting death of young Currimundi woman Feebie McIntosh has shaken the sleepy seaside suburb of Dicky Beach.

The 25-year-old was allegedly murdered at a Coolum St home on the morning of Friday, May 27, 2022.

As devastated friends and family piece together life without a woman they described as a “loving and caring friend” and her heartbroken fiance grieves for his “soulmate” Sunshine Coast detectives continue to trace the movements of one of two men charged with Ms McIntosh’s murder.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

On the morning of May 27, 2022 neighbours heard screams of ‘get an ambulance’ at a Coolum St home in Dicky Beach where Feebie McIntosh was allegedly shot in the head.

Ms McIntosh was rushed to Caloundra Base Hospital by a 58-year-old man known to her but tragically died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Sunshine Coast detectives, scientific and scenes of crimes officers scoured the scene after the alleged shooting.

Several people began to assist police with their inquiries as the search continued for suspects of the alleged murder in the street only minutes away from Caloundra.

Sunshine Coast Detective Inspector David Drinnen addressed media outside Caloundra Police Station about 3pm on May 27, where he described the incident as “tragic”.

“She received injuries to the head area,” Insp Drinnen said.

“We have a number of people we are trying to identify and interview.

“We also have homicide deployed to assist us in the investigation.”

The press conference was interrupted when several unmarked police cars sped off from Caloundra Police Station.

About 4pm a dramatic arrest unfolded in front of Sippy Downs residents as marked and unmarked police swooped on Narangba man Bradley Ian Cotten, 30.

Residents in Fitzwilliam Dr described the moment dozens of police came “roaring around the corner” in search of Mr Cotten.

He was later charged with the shooting murder of Feebie McIntosh.

Several of Ms McIntosh’s friends spoke of their grief as they grappled with the news they would never see the 25-year-old alive ever again.

Friend of five years Marian Whanauu said mates of Ms McIntosh had been left heartbroken by the news.

“It’s f---ing horrible how (someone) could do that,” she said.

“Feebie was an amazing human, full of love and faith.

“She was my ride or die, I love her so much and she’s in heaven with the angels now.”

Narangba man Bradley Ian Cotten, 30, was denied police bail and did not apply for bail in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on the charge of murder and had his matter adjourned to July 29, 2022.

The Courier Mail then reveals Ms Feebie McIntosh posted on social media about her excitement at getting engaged to her boyfriend just days before she was fatally shot in the head.

Just days before her death, Mitch White, who is in Borallon Correctional Centre, appeared to have proposed to Ms McIntosh via a letter he sent from behind bars.

“You’re the most sweetest man ever and the best part is, you’re all mine!” Ms McIntosh wrote in the May 6 post.

“I miss you so much!”

The Sunshine Coast Daily reported on Friday, June 3, friends had started raising money to try and cover the $1500 estimate quoted by Queensland Corrections to allow a prison escort for White to attend his fiance’s funeral.

Second man charged

Detectives nabbed a second man in relation to Ms McIntosh’s death after Wurtulla man Brandon Grant, 30, was arrested on May 28 after crashing into a car along Meta St, Mooloolaba.

Mr Grant was charged with the murder of Feebie McIntosh along with unlawful possession of a category A weapon, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs and one count each of possession of tainted property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

Mr Grant appeared by video link in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on May 30 but did not apply for bail, with a woman close to the Currimundi man yelling out “love you baby” as his video link was turned off.

His matters were also adjourned until July 29, 2022.

Neighbours in the Dicky Beach street spoke about the history of Coolum St and said police cars were a common sight for a number of years.

The residents, who asked not to be identified, also alluded to issues with stolen cars and property damage in the street.

Police sources confirmed they had previously received calls to that area relating to stolen property and disturbance jobs.

The reason why Ms McIntosh was at the Coolum St home was still being established according to police investigators.

Court documents revealed Ms McIntosh had been facing criminal charges stemming from an incident in the northern suburbs of Brisbane in Banyo on December 9, 2021.

Police allege in court documents Ms McIntosh was found with diazepam, marijuana, meth, a glass pipe and electric scales.

She was charged with three counts of possessing drugs, possessing pipes or utensils and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.

Ms McIntosh was due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 7, 2022.

It is not suggested that Mr Cotten and Mr Grant were involved in Ms McIntosh’s matters before the court.

Appeal for footage launched

Sunshine Coast detectives called for CCTV, dashcam vision and witness accounts of Mr Cotten’s movements after the alleged murder.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mansfield said they were focusing on Mr Cotten’s patterns of movement from the morning of the Dicky Beach alleged shooting to when he was arrested in Sippy Downs about 4pm on May 27.

Sergeant Mansfield said detectives were still investigating the motive behind the alleged murder with two options being explored at the moment.

He said it’s suggested by police those living at the Coolum St home were innocent parties to the disturbance which took Ms McIntosh’s life.

Detectives hoped to speak with anyone who was on the Nicklin Way northbound from the Caloundra area to Bokarina between 8.30am and 10.15am on May 27.

Anyone who was at Brightwater shops in the Mountain Creek area between 10.20am and 11am has also been urged to contact police.

A man they believe to be Mr Cotten was described as solid build, dressed in black and was carrying a black duffel bag in the area.

Anyone who might have dashcam footage or witness accounts from those locations is being urged to contact police.

Both men have been held in custody until their next court appearances.
