EXPOSED: 12 drink and drug drivers face Maroochydore court

From a man caught drink driving after consuming desserts to a man caught driving with meth in his system, here are 12 drink and drug drivers who faced court.

There were 12 people caught driving on Coast roads with drugs or alcohol in their system who pleaded guilty in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.

Kane Bruce MacDonald, 24, was caught drink driving when police stopped him at Buderim Avenue at 12.10am on May 9. The chef told police he had nothing to drink but had prepared food soaked in alcohol and eaten several portions of desserts made with Kahlua and wine. The P plater blew 0.029. He was disqualified from driving for three months and no conviction was recorded.

Jamie Lee Tupper, 33, blew 0.149 after being stopped on University Way and Sippy Downs about 1am earlier this year. The mother-of-three pleaded guilty to drink driving and was fined $600. She was disqualified from driving for four months and magistrate Chris Callaghan granted her a work licence between 6am and 11pm. No conviction was recorded.

Jeffrey John Gill, 52, was caught driving with marijuana in his saliva at Minyama in February. The smash repair company owner was fined $200 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Curtis Nathan Budge, 32, was disqualified from driving for one month after pleading guilty to driving while a marijuana was present in his saliva. The construction worker was also fined $150.

Iluka May Jones, 18, pleaded guilty to drink driving on Monday after being stopped and breath tested on Aerodrome Road on May 9. Police noticed her eyes were slightly red and watery and smelled liquor. The P plater blew 0.089 at 4.35am and said she'd consumed three gins between 7pm and 1am. She was disqualified from driving for three months and fined $350. No conviction was recorded.

Courtney Jade Laurie lost her licence for three months for driving with a relevant drug in her saliva. The 19-year-old P plater was pulled over in Maroochydore on April 2 and a test revealed traces of marijuana in her system. She was also fined $150 and no conviction was recorded.

Will Liam Matthew Howard, 19,pleaded guilty on Monday to driving with marijuana in his system. The P plater was stopped on the Bruce Highway at Chevallum on May 18 and told police he had used the drug the night before. He was disqualified from driving for three months and fined $150. No conviction was recorded.

Carla Maree Jesberg, 35, was breath tested after being stopped in Nambour at 5.10pm on April 25. The court heard she had two glasses of white wine between 4.45pm and 5.05pm and thought she would be under the limit. She had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.052. The veterinary nurse was fined $200 and disqualified from driving for one month, but was granted a work licence for 24 hours a day. No conviction was recorded.

Jeremie Owen Kimball, 48, pleaded guilty on Monday to driving with methylamphetamine in his system. The man was pulled over in Kunda Park in February and a roadside drug test revealed a positive result. He was disqualified from driving for one month and fined $150. No conviction was recorded.

Alexander Matthew Parry, 24, was disqualified from driving for one month after pleading guilty to driving with a relevant drug in his system. He was stopped in Coolum in March and a roadside drug test was positive for marijuana. Parry said he was a registered medicinal marijuana patient. He was also fined $150 and no conviction was recorded.

Paul Alexander Howe, 48, appeared in court via video link while on remand for other charges. He pleaded guilty to driving with methylamphetamine in his saliva, which was discovered when police stopped him on Woombye Palmwoods Road in March. He was driving without a licence and originally gave police a false name and failed to produce identification. He pleaded guilty to driving without a licence, contravene police direction and driving with a relevant drug in his saliva while being the holder of a provisional or probationary licence. He was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Joshua Charles Hall, 45, was supervising a learner driver on the Bruce Highway when police pulled the car over in April at Forest Glen. Hall tested positive for having marijuana in his saliva. He said he had a bipolar attack the day before and had used a "little bit of cannabis" but thought he would be clear the next day. He was disqualified from driving for one month and no conviction was recorded.
