The Bruce Hwy at Sippy Downs has turned into a traffic nightmare after a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the Bruce Hwy southbound at 3.15pm to reports of a two-car crash just after exit 194 on the Sunshine Mwy.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the road was not closed, but traffic was building.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were assessing two people but there were no serious injuries.

It comes after a teenage boy was rushed to hospital after a crash

between an e-scooter and a car in Buderim.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said officers were called to Brae Crt about 2.20pm to reports of a crash between an e-scooter and a car.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a teenage boy was in a serious condition and treated by paramedics for hip and head injuries.

She said he was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Resident David Reid, who didn’t witness the incident, said it’s common for children to come “whizzing past” on the street, sometimes with two people on one scooter.

He had a few near misses himself, he said.

“They come out, flying around here at a hundred miles an hour and ... (they) pull straight out and haven’t even looked,” he said.
