Elleny Jade Matthews in court for charges days after alleged Sunshine Coast marathon incident

The young woman accused of driving through a Sunshine Coast Marathon has returned to court on new charges alleged to have happened days later.

A young woman has faced court on new charges alleged to have happened days after she allegedly drove onto the course of the Sunshine Coast Marathon, narrowly missing participants.

Elleny Jade Matthews, 21, appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court via video on November 4, on 11 new charges, including a break and enter in company, assault occasioning bodily harm, robbery, breach of probation and seven breaches of bail.

The break and enter, assault occasioning bodily harm and robbery were alleged to have happened on August 16, days after she was alleged to have driven along Cotton Tree Esplanade while it was closed for a marathon event.

She did not apply for bail following the alleged event, and remains in custody.

Ms Matthews did not enter a plea to the break and enter, assault occasioning bodily harm, robbery and breach of probation, but pleaded guilty to bail breach charges.

The court was told Ms Matthews had failed to report to police, as per her bail conditions, on June 24, June 29, July 20, July 25, between August 6 and August 14, and August 15.

She was fined $700 and a conviction was recorded.

She will return to Maroochydore Magistrates Court on December 1.
