A woman who allegedly held up a Maroochydore pharmacy while dressed in a fake police uniform will undergo a mental health assessment, a Coast court has heard.
Elizabeth Marie Maynes allegedly entered a Denna Street pharmacy at 12.15pm on April 8 wearing an imitation police uniform and armour, armed with a replica handgun and a knife.
The woman allegedly had a conversation with staff before leaving the pharmacy with a number of controlled substances.
Police body cam footage shows Ms Maynes being arrested after being pulled from a car found nearby.
Maynes faced Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with five offences including impersonating public officers and carrying an exposed weapon in a public place.
Solicitor Ben Rynderman told the court Ms Maynes had been referred to a mental health liaison officer for her fitness and soundness to be assessed.
Mr Rynderman said he understood a direction was made for Ms Maynes to enter a plea to the charges but asked Magistrate Maxine Baldwin to vacate the order due to the circumstances.
Mr Rynderman asked for a six-week adjournment and said he would be in a better position to tell the court how the matter would proceed.
Magistrate Baldwin said she couldn’t find any direction for Ms Maynes to enter a plea and adjourned the matter to October 27.
Ms Maynes was not required to appear on that date.
