Boys charged after allegedly discharging fire extinguisher at baby on Sunshine Coast

Two teenage boys who allegedly fired an extinguisher at an open car window, hurting a five-month-old baby and another man, have been found.

Two teenage boys who allegedly discharged a fire extinguisher into an open car window and injured a five-month-old baby on the Sunshine Coast have been charged.

They will however be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act following the horror alleged incident in Sippy Downs last week.

Police allege the two boys were riding an e-bike along High St when they discharged the extinguisher into the open back window of a Suzuki Vitara which was stationary at traffic lights.

The occupants of the vehicle, a 29-year-old man and five-month-old child, suffered minor injuries as a result and required treatment at hospital.

It will be further alleged the fire extinguisher used in the incident was stolen from a nearby car park on Courage St in Sippy Downs earlier that night.

Police confirmed on Saturday that after extensive investigations the two teenagers were apprehended.

A 15-year-old Buderim boy was charged with 13 offences including three count each of wilful damage and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

A 14-year-old Buderim boy was charged with six offences including two count each of wilful damage and assault occasioning bodily harm.

Police stated both boys would be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
