Dylyn Brian Staines pleads guilty to fleeing police before drug possession arrest
A budding disc jockey went into full flight and took police on a foot chase to a local supermarket following a police operation at a nearby train station.

An aspiring Sunshine Coast DJ has fled from authorities into a nearby supermarket and ditched his bag of drugs following a police operation at a local train station.
Dylyn Brian Staines took the drastic option of running from Queensland Police who were performing wanding operations at Nambour Train Station about 5.30pm on June 13.
Maroochydore Magistrates Court was told on Monday how the 19-year-old spoke to police that afternoon, however officers could smell marijuana.
Staines told police he smoked cannabis earlier. He was asked to remove a side bag he had with him however before he could give this to officers, he ran.
Police prosecutor Bec Lambert said Staines fled into a nearby Coles supermarket, however numerous shoppers told pursuing police where he was.
Sergeant Lambert said Staines was found and arrested, but he dumped his bag and jacket. He also declined to tell police where they were.
Fortunately a member of the public told police the location of the items in the store and they were recovered.
The police prosecutor said police found a small amount of marijuana inside the bag along with a glass pipe.
Staines was charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils and obstructing police.
The Kenilworth teenager appeared in court where he pleaded guilty to all charges.
Defence solicitor Tania Pizarro said young people like Staines were prone to doing “silly things” and making poor choices, and asked only for a fine with no conviction recorded.
Ms Pizarro said the 19-year-old was employed however had ambitions to become a techno disc jockey who hoped to travel overseas in the future for his craft.
Magistrate Rod Madsen fined Staines $400 for each offence but did not record a conviction.
