A Sunshine Coast hinterland town has an unofficial drive-through bottle shop after a woman crashed through the front of a Thirsty Camel.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said officers were called to the Mapleton Rd bottle shop in Nambour about 2.20pm yesterday, March 2, along with firefighters and paramedics.
A 45-year-old woman had driven from a parking space directly out the front of the shop through the front doors, she said.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one person was looked over by paramedics and declined transport to hospital.
The Royal George Hotel, which owns the bottle shop, shared footage of the aftermath of the crash on its Facebook page.
“The customers have spoken!” it was captioned.
“We now have a new drive-through at the Nambour Heights Thirsty Camel!”
A man was heard in the video lamenting about some of the stock.
“Have a look at the Woodstock,” he said.
“For f--ks sake.”
Nambour resident “Rad” Phil has worked at the Royal George Hotel for about 18 months and said his colleague had a close call.
“Simple mistake but honestly she must have been going at speed as the front door is reinforced and has extra thick security glass, also managed to knock the fridge which was full a few metres into the store,” he said.
