The next step in the case of those accused of the shooting murder of Feebie McIntosh hinges on a new report while the accused killers remain in jail with bail refused.

Bradley Ian Cotten and Brandon Grant were charged with murdering the 25-year-old Currimundi woman, who was allegedly killed at a Coolum St home on May 27, 2022.

Their matters were mentioned again at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on May 19, 2023.

The accused men were not required to appear in court.

Mr Grant’s lawyer Anna Smith announced the matter was last adjourned on April 21, 2023 for one last piece of evidence, that being a DNA report, to be released.

Prosecutor Erica Zammit said the arresting officer could not give an estimate on the disclosure of the report because the DNA unit advised it was “not prioritised” until a committal hearing date had been set.

She said the officer had since been told that the matter could not proceed to committal hearing until the report was viewed.

“Prosecutions are as frustrated as we are,” Ms Smith said.

Mr Cotten and Mr Grant have remained in pre-sentence custody almost a year since they were first arrested.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist adjourned the matter to June 30 for committal call-over and directed the DNA report to be disclosed before that date.

Both men have been charged with one count of murder, and Mr Grant faces a further six charges including possessing drugs, driving without a licence, dangerous operations of a vehicle, receiving tainted property, possessing a weapon and possessing drugs exceeding schedule three but not exceeding schedule four.

No pleas were entered.
