Two people have been rushed to hospital in serious conditions after a two-truck crash and chemical spill on the Bruce Hwy southbound at Corbould Park on Friday morning.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said one of the trucks had spilled approximately 100L of hydrochloric acid on the Bruce Hwy after the crash.

He said firefighters with breathing apparatus worked to neutralise the spill and made sure the trucks involved where safe for removal.

The Sunshine Coast Council had been notified.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said a man with a head injury and a woman in her 30s with arm and pelvic injuries were both taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in serious conditions.

A third patient was taken to the hospital in a stable condition, though the spokesman could not confirm details of the patient.

A child was also involved in the crash.

Police expected significant delays for motorists as at least one lane of the highway was blocked.

Emergency services were called to the scene, about 15km south of the Caloundra turn off on the Bruce Hwy, to reports of a two-truck crash about 11am Friday, April 14.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said it was reported one of the trucks had collided with a guard rail and spilled the chemicals onto the highway.

This latest crash comes as the Queensland school holidays is drawing to a close, with most school students due to start back on April 17.

It also comes after two crashes in two days caused long delays for drivers on the Sunshine Mwy at Coolum Beach.

Six people were looked over by paramedics following a three-vehicle crash on April 13.

One person was transported to hospital with serious injuries and three others were hospitalised following another crash on April 12.
