Alleged stolen car video: Teens, man arrested by Sunshine Coast police

Dramatic footage has revealed the moment three teenagers and a man tried to escape police on foot after driving an alleged stolen car on the Sunshine Coast. Watch the video.

Three teenagers and a man have tried to make a daring escape on foot after dumping an alleged stolen car which was being tracked by a police chopper.

Police allege a Toyota Aurion sedan was stolen from a Mott St home in Gaythorne, north of Brisbane, on Wednesday and was spotted by police on Thursday night along the Bruce Highway at Coochin Creek.

The vehicle was tracked north by PolAir before it turned off onto Caloundra Road and travelled east.

Police deployed tyre spikes along Caloundra Rd with the vehicle followed into bushland near Honey Farm Rd in Meridan Plains.

The alleged offenders tried to flee on foot however police were able to take three people into custody.

A fourth alleged offender was found a short time later by PolAir and dog squad officers.

A 15-year-old Boondall girl was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing and a 16-year-old Sandgate boy was charged with burglary, receiving tainted property and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They will face Maroochydore Children's Court at a later date.

A 22-year-old Tewantin man was charged with burglary, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possessing utensils while an 18-year-old Boondall man was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.

They will both face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on June 17 and July 11 respectively.
