Secret text messages and new details surrounding a man accused of trafficking cocaine from Tasmania to Noosa have been revealed in court documents.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court was told on October 7, 2022, Aaron Luke Vasicek, 34, was extradited to Queensland from New South Wales after he was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

Police alleged Mr Vasicek was heavily involved in a national operation trafficking cocaine from Tasmania to Queensland and had ties to two major syndicates in the Noosa region.

He was denied bail in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on October 7, 2022.

Court documents have since revealed a number of conversations allegedly between Mr Vasicek and others allegedly involved in two Noosa drug syndicates; including allegations Mr Vasicek’s own partner at the time was involved.

The documents stated a conversation allegedly between Lucas Seth Jolly and Mr Vasicek showed Mr Vasicek’s partner at the time, Sarah-Jane Marie Cochrane, was involved.

Mr Jolly allegedly referred to himself as Ms Cochrane and Mr Vasicek’s (drug) “runner”, the documents stated.

Two conversations allegedly between Mr Vasicek and Mr Jolly from May 25, 2019, showed Mr Jolly allegedly discussing Ms Cochrane bringing him drugs as arranged by Mr Vasicek, the documents said.

The documents stated Mr Jolly allegedly asked Mr Vasicek if he could come to his house, but Mr Vasicek asked if Mr Jolly could drive instead.

Mr Jolly then allegedly asked how far away “Sarah” was, referring to Ms Cochrane.

The documents stated she was later arrested and charged with drug trafficking on April 18, 2022, after police allegedly found screenshots from encoded app WICKR containing “obvious drug conversations”, in her iPhone.

In an earlier conversation allegedly between Mr Vasicek and Mr Jolly, Mr Vasicek allegedly encouraged Mr Jolly to buy and sell drugs alongside him, the documents stated.

“You need to start working with me again and putting your mindset on what you want to achieve and buy like you want,” he allegedly said to Mr Jolly.

Throughout the conversations, Mr Vasicek allegedly encouraged Mr Jolly to use an unnamed “app”, which police alleged was an encrypted messaging service.

Mr Jolly allegedly told Mr Vasicek he had deleted this, however.

Police later uncovered another conversation, allegedly between another associate and a number connected to Mr Vasicek saved under the name ‘Azza’, allegedly showing Mr Vasicek arranging a drug supply for this associate and sometimes arranging for the associate to visit customers.

Mr Vasicek was remanded in custody following an unsuccessful bail application on October 7, and he will return to Maroochydore Magistrates Court on November 24, 2022.
