Peachester home gutted by house fire on Sunshine Coast

A two-storey timber home in the Sunshine Coast hinterland has collapsed and been completely gutted by a horror house fire early this morning. DETAILS.

A two-storey timber home in the Sunshine Coast hinterland has collapsed and been completely gutted by a horror house fire early this morning.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said crews arrived at the Peachester home at 6.37am, Tuesday morning.

She said the two storey timber house on River Rd was fully involved upon arrival.

There were three QFD crews and four rural fire service crews on scene.

The QFD spokeswoman said the fire was about 20m by 20m.

Thankfully there were no occupants in the house.

She said there was a complete structural collapse of the upper floor at 6.56am followed by total structural collapse at 7.13am.

The QFD spokeswoman said crews were still working to put the fire out.

The flames had not spread to any surrounding areas.
