Paloma Paloma Caloundra developers diss Noosa in new ad campaign

Developers who set tongues wagging after painting a block of buildings orange are now dissing Noosa in a new advertising campaign for their Caloundra project.

Queensland building boom stalled by supply shortage

Melburnians are being urged to ditch Noosa and look to Caloundra instead for their next investment in a cheeky advertising campaign.

“Not Noosa” billboards have gone up around some of Melbourne’s busiest areas to advertise the $250m Paloma Paloma Caloundra unit development.

It is the latest marketing tactic from the team who recently painted the 1 Bulcock St site’s buildings bright orange in a head-turning move.

Colliers director Daniel Hirst said Paloma Paloma would be unlike anything seen or planned on the Sunshine Coast.

“Caloundra is emerging rapidly as a living destination and a major reason is because it’s not Noosa,” Mr Hirst said.

“Paloma Paloma will bring exceptional design, service and facility to this beautiful seaside location.

“This project is about reinvigoration, about raising the aspiration and sophistication, and quality in Caloundra.”

The Brisbane-based developers purchased the block in August 2021 for $6.35m.

The billboards went up this week at the most heavily transited Melbourne highways with the aim to get the southerners who frequent Noosa to instead travel to Caloundra.

“We know people down there are ready for change – it’s been a long couple of years, and it’s time to hit reset,” Mr Hirst said.

“We know that exceptional culture, design, experience and generosity of Paloma Paloma will provide the most brilliant home and hotel to experience the laid-back charm of Caloundra, the variety of her beaches like Kings Beach and Moffat Beach and the burgeoning cultural experiences.”

According to CoreLogic, Queensland recorded Australia’s highest net interstate migration figure in the year to March, with interstate migration increasing 28.2 pre cent over the year.

Paloma Paloma has opened registrations for its 84 residences – with two, three and four bedroom apartments on offer.
