Units, a childcare centre and retail outlets are set to be added to an already thriving precinct on the Sunshine Coast.
Construction has started on new multimillion dollar development HQ by Devcon, at Sippy Downs.
Sunshine Coast-based Devcon Property Group is the brains behind several other large projects across the region including Onyx industrial precinct and Ascent town houses in Caloundra South.
"We are proud to have started on the coast and we wanted it to continue to be our home despite our projects now being throughout southeast Queensland," Devcon managing director Michael Kain said.
The development will include 46 residential apartments, a 120 place childcare centre, office space and eight retail spaces.
The first stage of the $35 million project will include 30 one and two bedroom apartments.
The childcare centre, 650sq m office space, retail outlets and 16 two-bedroom units will be rolled out as part of the second release.
Devcon sales manager Peter Latham said the development had been well received.
"The top floor apartments we wanted to design for those locals looking to downsize and also has appealed to the investor market with sales nearing 60 per cent already," he said.
Development manager Simon Drew said HQ formed part of Devcon's $100 million of residential, industrial and commercial projects currently under way.
"We constantly challenge ourselves to do something different, something better and I think you can see that in all our developments but particularly in HQ," he said.
"It sets the new benchmark for the Sippy Downs town centre."
Off-plan sales are now available with completion of the project expected mid next year.
