A young boy was taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Noosaville around midday on Sunday.
A spokeswoman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said they received a call shortly before 12pm about a vehicle and pedestrian incident on Eumundi Noosa Road.
“It was a primary school-aged patient,” the spokeswoman said.
She said the boy sustained only minor injuries in the incident.
He was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Traffic brought to a halt on Bruce Hwy after vehicle fire
Traffic ground to a standstill on Sunday morning after a vehicle caught fire on the Bruce Hwy.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said they received the call about 9.50am reporting the vehicle ablaze in Coochin Creek.
“It was a vehicle well involved,” she said.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames, bringing the fire under control shortly after 10am.
The incident caused significant delays as southbound traffic came to a halt, with reports traffic was backed up for 5km.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed that one lane had since been reopened to allow vehicles to pass, but warned motorists to expect ongoing delays.
No injuries were reported.
Woman, teen injured in car-pedestrian collision at Sunshine Coast
A woman and a teenager have been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Maroochydore on Friday.
Emergency services received a call at about 11.30am regarding a car and pedestrian incident on King St and Sixth Ave.
A Queensland Ambulance Spokeswoman said a woman in her 40s sustained head, elbow and hip injuries.
The teenage girl was reportedly experiencing “chest pains”.
“They are both conscious and alert,” the QAS spokeswoman said.
The Queensland Fire Department was also on scene assisting.
Both were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Woman suffers potentially life-threatening injuries in rollover
Emergency services had to free two people trapped in a car following a rollover late on New Year’s Day, with one suffering potentially life-threatening injuries.
A Queensland Ambulance statement read the car collided with a pole after rolling on Buderim Ave and Douglas St at Mooloolaba about 9pm on January 1.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said two fire crews rushed to the scene to free two people from the car, one of who was recovered very quickly.
Both were freed by 9.45pm, the spokesman said.
The statement read a woman was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition after suffering limb and back injuries.
A man also reportedly suffered back injuries and was taken to the same hospital in a stable condition.
Toddler rushed to hospital after near drowning at Coast beach
A toddler has been rushed to hospital after she nearly drowned at a Sunshine Coast beach on New Year’s Day.
The incident occurred at Noosa Little Cove, Noosa Heads about 2.40pm on January 1.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the young girl was pulled out of the water by lifeguards and rushed to Nambour Hospital.
The toddler is in a stable condition.
Man suffers burns from gas explosion in caravan
A man suffered several burns following an explosion from a faulty fridge in a caravan on the Sunshine Coast on New Year’s Eve.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the incident occurred on Eumundi Kenilworth Rd at Kenilworth about 7.30pm.
Two crews were sent, but the fire was out upon arrival.
The spokesman said the fire was caused by a form of gas explosion originating from the fridge in the caravan.
Crews isolated batteries and turned off gas before leaving the scene.
A man in his 30s suffered burns to his arms and legs from the explosion, a Queensland Ambulance statement read.
He was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
