Plans to build a set of townhouses across several floors, some sporting private gyms and bars, in a peaceful beachside suburb on the Sunshine Coast have been unveiled.
A development application to build six units at 17 and 19 Moffat St, Moffat Beach was lodged to Sunshine Coast Council by Adams and Sparkes Town Planning on behalf of Survey Consultants Pty Ltd.
The 1214sq m site is within a high-density residential zone, and is just a short walk away from the beach and a selection of cafes and restaurants.
Application documents state a shed is currently sitting on the land, but will be demolished in favour of the proposed set of units.
Plans show the six townhouses would be split into two blocks, with the front units receiving three floors and the rear units receiving four.
The first three floors of each unit will be identical, sporting three bedrooms and an office as well as a courtyard with a small pool.
Documents show the top floor of the rear units will provide a games or gym area, a bar, lounge and outdoor terrace.
The open-space and functional layout of each home provide a “high level of residential amenity,” documents state.
Single-storey residential homes sit to the left and right of the proposed site, and a set of residential units sit at the rear.
Documents describe the street’s character as “diverse” thanks to the mix of older homes and new developments.
The planned set of units feature a high-quality architectural design with contemporary coastal themes, offering an “attractive appearance” to positively impact the streetscape.
“The site is located approximately 1.5km east of the Caloundra CBD, within an established coastal residential area known for its proximity to the beach, vibrant local character, and recreational amenities,” documents read.
