Luke and Kayla Marshall reveal ethos behind Butchers of Noosa
A Sunshine Coast butcher is “coming home” to the former site of an iconic Noosa shop, revealing his young family’s plans to bring the neighbourhood pillar back to life.

A Sunrise Beach dad-of-two has described his latest venture as “coming full circle” as he prepares to bring a humble local butcher shop back to life in Noosa.
Luke Marshall along with wife Kayla and their two sons George and Alfie, plan to open Butchers of Noosa in mid-November.
The shop at Grasstree Ct, Sunrise Beach was previously home to popular Sunrise Beach Meats where Mr Marshall worked from 2002 to 2010.
Mr Marshall, a third generation butcher, said opening his own store in the same shop he worked in 20 years ago felt “like coming home”.
“It was all those years ago but the same people are still around the area, there are a lot of familiar faces, people still recognise me,” Mr Marshall said.
“Back in those days the slogan was ‘not your average butcher shop’ and it was very popular.”
Ms Marshall said a highlight of Butchers of Noosa’s journey so far had been seeing the community getting excited about the opening.
“It has been really cool to see the community recognising Luke and getting excited over it,” Ms Marshall said.
Ms Marshall said one of the main focuses of the shop, as people struggle with cost-of-living pressures, would be to keep quality meat affordable.
“We totally get that the economy is struggling, it is tough and we feel it ourselves but we hope that we can create a little business that can offer affordable products without compromising the quality,” Ms Marshall said.
“We hope to offer free-range products that are carefully selected but affordable for our customers.”
Mr Marshall said customers at Butchers of Noosa could expect high quality meat as they look to build relationships with artisan, local suppliers.
“People always like shopping with a local butcher, it is family oriented, especially in Noosa,” Mr Marshall said.
“We will be that little bit different to most butcher shops around, I’ve hand selected products for very good butchers for a long time.
“I want to be that knowledgeable butcher that can tell people where the meat comes from and how to best cook it, that is our ethos.”
