UPDATE: Being brought in as a partner on a 10-15 year development at Palmview is a significant boost for local operators Murphy Homes.

They've been on the Coast since 1975 and business development manager Werner Reiterer said they were "pretty excited" to be a part of it.

He said they were working on their designs for the new project, concentrating on offering a product that could service first-home buyers through to families, offering a quality finish at an affordable price.

He said if they scored a spike in business through the Palmview project there would be a ripple effect that would boost staffing and contractors and projects like this helped remove the peaks and troughs from the market.

Integrale Homes owner Murray Reilly said the project provided a huge opportunity, given the Brightwater development had reached its end.

"It puts a lot of security in people's minds," Mr Reilly said.

He expected about 10 years of work to come from the Palmview project which would be a massive boost to many trades in the region.

BREAKING: The next 15 years just became a whole lot rosier for a number of Coast builders after the construction partners for the Harmony development at Palmview were unveiled.

AVID Property Group's $3 billion development will see 5000 homes built over the next 10-15 years on the 378ha site that sits to the south of Sippy Downs and east of the Bruce Hwy.

More than 20 major and local builders have been confirmed as official building partners for the project which now has its first house and land packages available.

More than 40 lots make up the first release with packages in that stage starting from $370,850 while builders are already working on packages for the next house and land release.

More than 12,000 residents will be housed by the 5000-home development which includes 100ha of open space, a 60m-wide, multi-kilometre linear parkway and a 15,000sq m town centre.

A further 3000 homes will be constructed by other landowners, housing 5000 residents, as part of future development of the site.

An AVID spokeswoman said they approached builders in the region to and invited them to work on the 'Harmony' project, building the development and its future display village.
