A Coolum Beach mother who lost her son in a tragic motorcycle accident has faced court after she was allegedly subjected to ongoing alleged abuse from her neighbour and retaliated by smashing up their car.

Kylie Jane Lehmann, 50, was fined $200 and ordered to pay restitution of $800 after she pleaded guilty to two counts of wilful damage in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on May 30, 2022.

Lehmann said she was “deeply regretful” for smashing up her neighbour’s car at the carpark of their unit complex in Coolum Beach on December 17, 2021.

Police prosecutor Nick Nitschke said a witness saw Lehmann using some type of bar or hammer to walk around the victim’s car and smash the windows, doors and roof.

Sergeant Nitschke said Lehmann could be heard yelling “f--k you bitch, f--k you.”

The repairs to the car cost $4384.11, with an insurance excess of $800.

The court heard Lehmann was also involved in damaging a CCTV camera valued at $199 with a co-offender on August 8, 2021.

Lehmann handed a hammer to her co-offender who used it to damage the CCTV camera at her unit complex.

Representing herself in court Lehmann said ever since she moved into the complex a woman had been allegedly harassing her.

“She’s slandered me non-stop in front of the public, calling me a prostitute and all sorts of horrible things,” Lehmann said.

“After the death of my son, she approached me in the driveway started laughing and said ‘yeah I heard about your son, should’ve been you that died with him’.”

Lehmann’s son Dayne Lehmann, 26, was riding a motorbike when he lost control at Bray Park just after midnight in November of 2021.

The Coolum mother told the court the neighbour’s comment about her son was said directly before the car smashing incident.

“I don’t really recall much of what happened to the vehicle but I know that I was very upset and I’d had enough,” she said.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist did not record a conviction against Lehmann and wished her good luck.
