A young Sunshine Coast man will face court after hinterland police arrested him for an alleged crime spree at the weekend – where he was allegedly spotted on private properties, intoxicated, and carrying a weapon.

A young Sunshine Coast man will face court after hinterland police arrested him for an alleged wild crime spree at the weekend – where he was allegedly spotted on private properties, intoxicated, and carrying a weapon.

Police will allege, Jai Murdoch, 29, of Kenilworth, went on a wild crime spree in the early hours of Saturday, February 4.

Police claim he was spotted by locals walking around allegedly “intoxicated” with another woman. Many reported allegedly seeing him drinking in public and yelling and swearing.

Witnesses reported spotting him allegedly trying to break into some cabins at a Kenilworth business, at Anne St businesses, at Philip St, at the local BP service station, at the local pub, at a general store, and on various private properties.

Local police arrested him later that day.

He was charged with two counts of trespassing on private properties between 6.30am and 8am.

He was also charged with one count of possession of a weapon and will appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 6.

Police will allege he was carrying knuckle dusters at the time.
