A Bli Bli couple has walked away with an extra $1000 a week for five years after scoring the top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

Their $5 Live the Life Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Infinity News Bli Bli in the River Markets complex.

Speaking with an official from The Lott on Friday morning, the Sunshine Coast man explained how he and his partner discovered their instant win.

He said they had a tradition of playing a round of golf followed by some scratchie tickets.

Apart from a few dollars here and there, they'd never won big.

"My partner had scratched her tickets already and was sitting beside me waiting for me to finish mine," he said.

"I didn't tell my partner, I just asked her to check the ticket for me.

"She actually didn't realise at first, she'd thought we'd won $1000 and was so excited, but then I told her to look at it again.

He said they went "absolutely berserk".

"There were plenty of profanities and lots of screaming and cheering," he said.

"It's so exciting. This is a dream."

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, he said he couldn't wait to live life to the fullest.

"We have a fair bit to do around the house," he said.

"We will go on a few holidays around Australia too and visit all of our family."

Infinity News Bli Bli manager Sue Stephens said she the entire team was celebrating the win.

It comes after The Lott has urged buyers to check their tickets as there were 10 division one and major lottery prices to the tune of $7.4 million unclaimed across the state.

A $1 million Gold Lotto ticket purchased at Cotton Tree News in December 2016 is among the unclaimed tickets.
