A two-bedroom house on a triangle-shaped block of land close to a popular Caloundra beach has sold for $2.1m to Sunshine Coast developers.

Real estate data shows the property at 1 Tay Ave, adjacent to Bulcock Beach, was sold as a deceased estate and first hit the market in March.

The land upon which the two-bedroom lowset home is built is zoned tourist accommodation and overlooks the Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island.

Ray White Caloundra principal Andrew Garland sold the 612sq m block.

He said the auction attracted five bidders but the property passed in and it was sold a few days later, on April 4, to one of the bidders.

Mr Garland would not completely reveal the buyers’ identities and said instead they were “local property developers” and he was unsure what they had planned for the land.

“On the Caloundra esplanade there’s only maybe three houses remaining,” he said.

The real estate agent said the shape of the block combined with the Sunshine Coast Council setbacks made it more complex land to build on.

“If it was a regular-shaped block it would have gone for more,” Mr Garland said.

“In that context it was a successful sale.”

The real estate agent said the “market was still positive” and the sale was another indication of the market’s health.
