David Low Way traffic after two-car crash in Diddillibah

Police are managing congestion on a major Sunshine Coast highway after a two-car smash left one road users in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-car smash by concerned witnesses who described a possible head-on crash that slowed traffic on a Sunshine Coast highway.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said two patients were cared for after a two-car crash on David Low Way and Petrie Creek Road in Diddillibah at 10.28am.

One patient was transported to Nambour Hospital with a leg injury.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said police attended the scene at around 10:30am after concerned witnesses said there had been a head-on crash.

The spokeswoman said traffic backed-up after the crash and one police crew were still on the scene managing the congestion.

Police did not confirm if the crash was head-on.

Ambulance and fire crews have left the scene.
