HOME And Away's Pia Miller marks a milestone two years on the show this month - but it hasn't been without drama, both on and off screen.

On the show, Miller plays police officer Katarina Chapman, who has been shot by a drug dealer, fallen in love with some of Summer Bay's bachelors and even uncovered the killer in a grisly murder case.

But when the cameras stop rolling, the drama doesn't stop.

The mother of two has suffered through a marriage breakdown, started a high-profile new relationship and has been branded a "diva” by her acting colleagues.

Miller, 33, split from her husband of 10 years Brad Miller in 2015 after struggling to balance her family life and filming commitments.

She is now dating film producer Tyson Mullane, and has relocated from Melbourne to Sydney to be closer to the soap's set.

The off-screen dramas have likely drawn new viewers to the ratings juggernaut, and Miller doesn't have any regrets about her choices.

"I grew up with those characters in my living room; it was always my ritual after school watching Home And Away,” she said.

"I pinch myself every day. To get the opportunity to be on there at all and as a full-time actor is just amazing.

"To get a job like this that is consistent, and I have a character I can really work in all those nuances and little things about her that I can relate to and make up and put my own touch on.

"It is just so much fun to have a character I can sink my teeth into.”
