A woman broke into tears after she was told she would have to stay in jail for at least another two months by a court magistrate.

Holly Louise Cheatley, 30, appeared via video link in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, May 27.

She entered guilty pleas to two counts of failing to appear in court and one of breaching a bail condition.

Acting magistrate Anna Smith counted the offences to be her fifth and sixth occasion not appearing in court.

Duty lawyer Michael Robinson told the court her history of offending started after relationship complications and she was left homeless.

Ms Smith fined her $1000 in total and sentenced her to three months’ imprisonment wholly suspended for 12 months.

Mr Robinson then applied for bail on her remaining five charges of two counts of unlawfully using a vehicle, one of driving without a licence, one of obstructing a police officer and one of trespass.

No pleas have been entered.

Police prosecutor Jeanette Grigoris opposed bail considering her history of failing to appear and her bail address being potentially unsuitable as she previously was never located there whilst on bail.

The court heard Ms Cheatley allegedly stole a car which had been secured in a storage shed and when the vehicle was located in Tewantin, police dogs had tracked her down.

A search of her phone allegedly revealed a video taken inside the car showing Ms Cheatley towing a stolen trailer and another showing her driving with a co-accused.

Ms Smith refused bail and adjourned the matter to July 30.
Ms Cheatley teared up and began to sob as the video link was disconnected.
