A rider has been seriously injured at a motocross park in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in the second serious crash at the park in less than 24 hours.
Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, were called to the scene at Green Park on Maleny Kenilworth Rd in Elaman Creek at 11.30am on October 16 to reports a man had been seriously injured in a crash.
The park is home to the Sunshine Coast Motorcycle Club, who is holding the Ballards Off-Road Classic Weekend at the park from October 14 to October 16.
It comes after a man in his 30s was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a bizarrely similar incident at the park on October 15.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said this rider, a man in his 60s, sustained pelvic, lower back and chest injuries and was “not overly in a good way”.
He remains in a serious condition, with paramedics concerned about his chest injury, she said.
A rescue helicopter arrived on-scene just after 12.05pm, and the man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
