Fireys extinguish devastating house fire at Buckle St, Yandina

Police have been told what may have started an intense fire which destroyed a Sunshine Coast hinterland home.

Fire investigators will comb through the scene of a gutted Sunshine Coast hinterland home after it was engulfed in flames last night.

Up to eight fire crews were called throughout the night after a home on Buckle St at Yandina erupted in flames about 4.40pm on Saturday.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said multiple crews battled the blaze at the two storey weatherboard home and were able to extinguish it.

The spokeswoman however said they received multiple triple-0 calls about 8.30pm after the house fire reignited.

She said fireys were able to put out the fire and left about 10pm.

Fire investigators will arrive on Sunday to scour the scene and determine the official cause of the inferno.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said initial indications state the fire may have started from a heater on the second level of the home.

The spokesman said one person was inside when the fire erupted but left the home without injury.

He said the fire was being treated as not suspicious.

Paramedics attended however no one was treated at the scene.
